A plastic or rubberized connector
jacket often times colorized for cable identification.
Card Security Code:
The Card Security Code (CSC) is the 3 or 4 digit number on credit cards that is intended to reduce fraud by validating that the user has the card in their possession. It is only printed on the card and is not allowed to be stored. Visa calls this code the Card Validation Code (CVC) it is the 3-digit number located on the back of the card. Master Card calls this code the Card Verification Value (CVV) it is the 3-digit number located on the back of the card. Discover calls this code the Cardmember ID it is the 3-digit number located on the back of the card. American Express calls this code the Card Identification Number (CIN) it is the 4-digit number located on the front of the card above the number.
Usually refers to the color of the jacket on the cable.
Also known as "degree of cable exit" and "exit degree" is the angle,
in degrees, that the cable exits the hood. Depending on the cable, the options are 90,
120 and 180.
90: the cable exits 90 degrees from connector. 120: the cable exits 120 degrees from connector. 180: the cable exits 180 degrees or "straight back" from connector.
90° Exit 120° Exit 180° Exit
Along with choosing the Exit Angle you may have the option of choosing the connector orientation (straight, left or right facing).
Free UPS Ground Shipping:
Stonewall offers free UPS ground shipping for all fiber cable orders with a total weight under the UPS weight limit (150 lbs.). If over the weight limit, shipping costs will be unavailable and we will contact you to advise of shipping costs before proceeding with your order.
There are usually 3 options for "Gender": Blunt, Female and Male.
Blunt: There is no connector at the end of the cable. In some cases the
connector is included, in others there may be no connector necessary. Female: The connector is loaded with sockets. Male: The connector is loaded with pins.
You are normally asked to choose the gender of the connectors at both ends (P1 and P2) of the cable. This is indicated in the drop-down box by a
slash (/). The gender specified on the left of the slash is for the P1 connector and the
gender specified on the right of the slash is for the P2 connector. Example: choosing "Male / Female" would indicate the Connector on P1 is to be
Male and the Connector on P2 is to be Female.
Stonewall offers several jacket choices:
PVC [Polyvinylchloride] - A general purpose thermoplastic, plasticized for superior flexibility and chlorinated for mild fire retardant qualities. PVC is the standard jacket for most communication cables. PVC jacketing is economical and highly durable, making it ideal for most standard applications.
Plenum - The highest rated fire resistant cable jacket, intended for the plenum spaces of public buildings (space reserved for the circulation of air in heating and air conditioning systems, usually below a raised floor or above a dropped ceiling). All our plenum cables are manufactured to comply with NFPA and National Electric Code guidelines, with a fire retardant jacket that is slow-burning and emits little smoke during combustion. Using plenum rated jacketing helps to ensure the safety of personnel by reducing the spread of dangerous gases in the event of a fire.
LSZH [Low Smoke Zero Halogen] - LSZH jackets are composed of thermoplastic compounds that drastically reduce the amount of smoke emitted when exposed to high heat or fire, while completely eliminating the release of dangerous halogens associated with standard PVC jacketing. It is ideal for areas that may be more confined or at higher risk of fire, public locations where high traffic volumes increase potential risk, and forward thinking industrial organizations concerned with protecting their employees and sensitive equipment. Benefits of LSZH jacketing include:
Drastically reduced smoke emission during combustion.
Zero halogen emission during combustion.
The added safety LSZH jacketing provides in the event of fire has made it the ideal choice for applications ranging from military bases, ships, and submarines, to hospitals, subway stations, and industrial facilities the world over.
OFNR Riser - Optical Fiber Nonconductive Riser (OFNR) cable is intended for vertical runs between floors or non-plenum applications.
OFNP Plenum - Optical Fiber Nonconductive Plenum (OFNP) cable is intended for horizontal runs within ceilings, air ducts, and where required by local fire code.
Indoor/Outdoor Riser - Indoor/Outdoor cable can withstand the strains of outdoor use but also meets the flammability requirements of indoor cables. Like OFNR riser cable, when using indoor/outdoor riser cable indoors, it is intended for vertical runs between floors or non-plenum applications.
Indoor/Outdoor Plenum - Indoor/Outdoor cable can withstand the strains of outdoor use but also meets the flammability requirements of indoor cables. Like OFNP plenum cable, when using indoor/outdoor plenum cable indoors, it is intended for horizontal runs within ceilings, air ducts, and where required by local fire code.
Aerial (Self-supporting) - Designed to be strung from poles outdoors, this cable has an internal stress member that protects the fibers from strain.
Direct Burial - Direct burial cable is intended for ducts or buried directly underground. It features an armor layer inside the jacket to help prevent damage.
The distance from tip to tip, unless otherwise specified. Most cables are available in any length (e.g., 12.5). If you are looking at a limited set of Length options, check the See Also section of the product display for availability of a custom length cable. If there is no cable listed, please call 800-525-3303 for availability.
The Locking Mechanism is the means of securing the cable to the device or another cable.
Many types of locks are used including Screws, Spring Clips and Bail
The label "option" is used when the product has choices that are uncommon or
customized. In the case of a cable, there will be an indication that the option is
available for only one end or both.
For example there may be an option to "Include
the adapters" or "Adapters hardwired" on to P2.
The direction in which the cable connector faces can be Left Facing (LF), Right
Facing (RF), Straight or not applicable (NA). Often times this is asked in
conjunction with the Exit Angle. Left Facing Right Facing
P1/P2 or Common/P2/P3:
P1 - Defines the connector on the left, or system, side of the cable.
P2 - Defines the connector on the right, or device, side of the cable.
System [Computer] P1--------------------P2 Device [Printer]
In most cases the application defines what the connectors will be, however
in some cases you have the choice of connector from a drop down list.
In the case of a "Y" cable the term Common refers to the common connector which is usually on the system side
of the cable. P2 and P3 usually refer to the connectors on the device side. An exception to this would be a "Y"
cable that connects two computers to a single printer.
Most cables are available in any length and use Stonewall's $(Base Price) + $(Price) per Foot pricing schedule for each cable. This means that you can get the length you need at standard length prices - no customization fees. For example, if the price is $15.00 + 0.50 per Foot and you want 8 feet: $15.00 + (8 x $0.50) = $19. Using the same price a 10 foot cable would be: $15.00 + (10 x $0.50) = $20.
Products that do not have a customizable length display the unit price.
An "easy pull" ring that is attached to the end of the cable to prevent damage during installation. During installation the pulling force is redirected to the body of the cable instead of the core or connectors. This reduces the stress, and therefore damage, to the fibers or conductors. The pulling eye may be removed and reused.
Spool Size and Put-up:
These attributes refer to the length of cable on the spool or pull box respectively. Normally they include lengths of 1000 feet and 500 feet.
If the bulk cable is available in both supply methods (i.e. spool and pull box) the standard supply method is used as the attribute label,
the other can be specified in a text box as shown below.
In this example the attribute label is "Put-up" indicating the default supply method is pull box.
To have the cable supplied on spools you would enter "ship on spool" in the text box.
Put-up: This product requires additional information:
Standard packaging is in pull-boxes. If you prefer spools, please specify below.
